Glorieta Mountain  |  April 2007
I went to Glorieta Mountain in New Mexico with Bob Haag, Montana Bob, Matt Moran, Greg Hupe, Mike Farmer and several other meteorite freaks.

We spent about a week on the mountain, like a swarm of locusts, detecting up and down the slopes and mesas.

A few smaller specimens were found on day one, but I found the motherlode on day two. 4.83kg, with olivine showing.

On the last day Bob and Greg also found very nice specimens, with a lot of olivine showing.

All in all a very satisfying adventure!

Assembly at the KOA, day one.

Mike Farmer getting his bearings.

Robert Ward, digging for treasures.

Greg Hupe getting ready to storm the mountain.

The gang on day two.

Not an easy hike!

First light in a 1000 years!

There it is - fresh out of the ground

Safe in Bob's camper!

Later that night - celebrating the lucky find!

Bob Haag - snow storm or not - here he comes!

Bob and his new friend.
